Kathmandu, 21 May, 2017 : First phase local level election was held on May14. Results are being out where CPN-UML is standing on the first position, Nepali congress is standing on the second position and CPN-Maoist is in the third position. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s party CPN Maoist Centre reviewed its performance in the local level elections held in 34 districts and expressed satisfaction over the results. A meeting of the party headquarters, held at the PM’s official residence in Baluwatar today, concluded that the results were expected given the state of party organisation, which it said was unsystematic despite unification.
In the meeting, Maoist Chairman and Prime Minister Dahal noted that it was Maoist party’s win to successfully hold the elections in order to “decentralise Singhadarbar’s power to people’s courtyards” and making the local levels powerful. The meeting has decided to formulate an action plan and select candidates from the party at the earliest for the second phase of local election slated for June 14 in the remaining 41 districts, said Party Spoke Person Pampha Bhusal .
