Kathmandu, 14 February, 2018 : Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is likely to resign from his post on Wednesday. “PM Deuba plans to step down from the post as soon as the Election Commission (EC) submits its final results of election to the House of Representatives to the President,” Nepali Congress spokesperson Bishwo Prakash Sharma said. PM Deuba, according to Sharma, will declare his resignation while addressing the nation.
Deuba had held discussions with party leaders and some ministers. Sources said leaders and ministers during the discussion suggested Deuba to tender his resignation.
Deuba was elected as the 40th PM on June 6, 2017 securing 388 votes out of the 593 lawmakers in the parliament in the election that had no other candidate.
