Nidhi accuses administration of letting off murderer

Sarlahi:, 1 November : Nepali Congress Vice President Bimalendra Nidhi has expressed concern over the local administration's attempt to let off the murderer of Ram Bilas Mahato, a cadre of the Nepali Congress, from Boharwa of Ramnagar in the district.

Vice President Nidhi, who arrived here to take stock of the murder of the party cadre following the clash with the cadres of the Communist Party of Nepal, said it was sheer inattention of the administration to not arrest the shooter though the injured were informing about the shooter. He also warned of agitation in all eight districts of Province 2 if the murderer was not held immediately.

On the occasion, NC Spokesperson Bishwo Prakash Sharma also underscored the need of bringing the culprit to book, otherwise face serious consequences.

In protest of Mahato's murder on Tuesday, the NC cadres picketed the District Administration Office and demonstrated in the market area on Wednesday. The protest rally was attended by Vice President Nidhi, Spokesperson Sharma, central member Ananda Dhungana, former ministers Mahendra Yadav and Jitendra Dev, federal lawmaker Amaresh Singh and party presidents from all eight districts of Province 2.

The leaders also sent a memorandum to the Home Ministry through the District Administration Office.

They demanded adequate security in the district, arrest of the culprit, and guarantee of free treatment to the injured from the government, among others.  Seven others were also injured in the clash.
